Hello fellow candle lovers!
Welcome to our first blog post! We hope to cover a variety of candle topics and what ever else we come across! If anyone has any topic idea send me a message!
Lets get into it! First topic is short and sweet. The appropriate amount of time to burn a soy wax candle.
It is generally recommended to only burn soy candles for 3-4 hours at a time. Here’s why!
Burning your candle for longer than 4 hours:
✨ This will shorten the lifespan of your candle and ruin future burns. The melted wax (not the flame) is what gives off scent. When you burn your candle too long this affects the fragrance throw for future burns.
✨ As your candle burns, carbon residue builds up on the wick and burning too long will cause “mushrooming” , in turn the wick will become too long, get too hot and produce excess smoke and leave black marks on your vessel.
Additionally, make sure you are trimming your wick to 1/4” EVERY TIME before burning. Use a wick trimmer or pinch off the charred wick.
While burning allow the wax to melt evenly across the top of the vessel to avoid tunnelling.
Use these tips to get the most out of your candle!
